Your workspace
A workspace brings one business's customer data, brand, campaigns, journeys and team access together. Every entity belongs to that workspace, and its billing is separate. Use additional spaces when you need separate business contexts.
Almost everything on this page lives under Settings, which you open from the workspace menu at the top of the app (the one showing your workspace name). Admins also get Members and Billing shortcuts in that same menu.
Name it and set its address
Open Settings, then General. You can set three things: the workspace logo, the name, and the slug.
The slug is the part of the address bar that identifies your workspace, so changing it changes every link into this workspace. It has to be unique across all of maxclicks, and the name has to be unique among the workspaces you belong to. Either field tells you it is not available before you can save.
General is admin-only, along with Brand, Members, maxinja, Plans, Billing, and Forms Protection. Domains, Sender Profiles, Schemas, Events, Topics, and Developers are open to every member.
Get it ready to send
A brand new workspace cannot send email yet. Two things have to happen first, and both are worth doing on day one:
Verify a sending domain
Under Settings, then Domains, add the domain you send from and follow the DNS steps. Sending stays off until one is verified, and the app nags you about it: No Sending Domain while you have none, Unverified Domain while one is waiting on DNS. See deliverability for the full walkthrough.
Pick your defaults
maxclicks pre-selects a default wherever a choice is needed, so you are not choosing a domain and a sender for every email. Open the row menu on Domains, Sender Profiles, or Schemas and choose Set as default.
Your first contact schema becomes the default automatically, and a workspace always keeps at least one. Delete the default while you have others and maxclicks promotes one of them in its place. Try to delete the only one you have and maxclicks refuses: "Cannot delete the last contact schema".
On the Free plan, first domain verification grants the workspace's one-time credits and enables sending from that domain. Eligible new workspaces can receive funded maxinja setup assistance beforehand; ordinary AI operations still need available credits. See billing.
Invite the people you work with
Settings, then Members, then Invite team members. Everyone you add holds one of three roles (Admin, Member, or Non-paid Admin), and a workspace always keeps at least one Admin. What each role can do, which of them take a paid seat, and how to change or remove someone are all in members.
What your plan covers
Which plan you are on comes down to one thing: whether the workspace has an active subscription. Settings, then Plans, puts Free and Premium side by side with a monthly and annual toggle. What each plan includes, what a seat costs, and what credits pay for are in billing.
Understand what a default changes
Defaults reduce setup for the next item you create; they are not a promise to rewrite every existing message. Review the sender and brand on live templates, scheduled broadcasts and published workflow versions before changing workspace settings. Campaign revisions and published workflow email templates preserve the configuration used by that work.
Use the workspace for one coherent customer model and operating team. Separate spaces have separate credentials, domains, data and balances; selecting another workspace does not move a contact or campaign there.
Watch for notices
maxclicks raises anything that needs your attention in an Inbox panel, opened from the icon in the top bar. You can filter it by Critical, Action, or Updates.
What actually turns up there:
- Low Credits and Credits Depleted, as available usage runs low. New work may be refused; broadcasts and workflows can wait for credits.
- Email Limit Reached on Free, and Monthly Email Limit Exceeded once a Premium workspace passes its included million.
- No Sending Domain and Unverified Domain, each linking straight to the page that fixes it.
- Deliverability warnings raised against your sending reputation: DKIM Setup Needed, SPF Setup Needed, DMARC Setup Needed, BIMI Setup Needed, Bounce Rate Warning, Complaint Rate Warning, and Sending IP Warming. These are the ones worth acting on quickly, because they compound: see deliverability.
Issue an API key
Settings, then Developers, then the API keys tab. A key works in this one workspace, carries its owner's access, and is shown to you exactly once. Members covers who can issue a key and what to do when one leaks, and authentication covers using it against the API.
Working in more than one workspace
Your account can belong to several workspaces. The menu at the top of the app lists the ones you are a member of, switches between them, and offers New workspace. Nothing is shared between workspaces: contacts, schemas, domains, credits, and billing are all separate.
Deleting a workspace
Settings, then General, at the bottom. maxclicks asks you to confirm with Permanently delete workspace.
Deleting a workspace cannot be undone. You and everyone on your team lose access, and all of its data goes with it: contacts, objects, events, templates, broadcasts, workflows, and history. There is no recovery and no export step built into the delete, so take anything you want to keep out first.
