Create your first personalized email
Build one email that gives three customers different advice. You will choose the customer context, mark a passage for Adaptyle and compare the finished messages before sending.
What you will make
Loopwell is a fictional project app. Three signups have not created a project, but they have different work ahead: a launch, customer research and a client handoff. The same email can suggest a relevant project to each person.

- Sales and design sign-off
Hi Maya,
Create a project for launch plan sign-off, separate from Daniel’s launch asset project. Add a next step to get sales and design approval, so ownership and the next milestone are clear as you coordinate the product launch in 10 days.
Create your first projectMaya's preview proposes launch sign-off without duplicating her teammate's asset work. Leila's uses her eight interview notes. Hugo's focuses on tomorrow's handoff. The design and Create your first project button stay the same. These are saved generated examples; a new generation can use different wording.
Before you begin
- A workspace with a contact type and permission to edit email content.
- Three test contacts, or the sample records below. Keep them separate from a live audience.
- Available AI credits for previews and a published brand kit if you want to use your brand guidance.
An in-app preview does not send an email. An inbox test additionally needs a verified sending domain and email allowance.
Add three customer profiles
Open Records, choose your contact type, and use Add Customer or the equivalent button for that type. Use distinct test email addresses you control, enter the following names and put the context in Notes. This small example uses a built-in text field; a production campaign can use your selected profile fields and related records instead.
| Customer | Notes |
|---|---|
| Maya Nolan | No projects of her own. Launch in 10 days. Daniel owns launch assets. Sales and design sign-off is still missing. |
| Leila Chen | No projects of her own. Eight customer interviews completed. Wants to prioritize the next product sprint. A teammate owns participant recruitment. |
| Hugo Meyer | No projects of his own. Client handoff tomorrow. Has a draft outline and one outstanding client decision. |
You can also download the sample CSV and use Import Customers. The file uses the built-in keys firstName, lastName, email and notes. Its example addresses are for previews only. Leave Subscribe to email by default off and inspect each saved record after importing. See CSV import if your file uses different columns.
Create the shared email
Open Broadcasts → New broadcast. Choose your test contact type and audience, then select Next. Choose Dynamic Composer and Marketing, then Next to create the draft and open Composer. Rename it First project preview from its header. If you are opening an existing draft with no email, use Add content.
Give maxinja this brief in the composer, referring to the contact type you chose:
Draft a first-project email for Loopwell with the subject “Your first Loopwell project”. Use a simple layout, a greeting and one paragraph of advice. Mark that paragraph for Adaptyle. Use the selected customer's notes to suggest a project. Keep the button label “Create your first project” and the example destination https://loopwell.example/projects/new fixed. Leave the campaign unscheduled for review.
The example destination does not lead to a working app. Supply your own project-creation URL when adapting this to your business. Open the saved email and review its layout and content. If the advice paragraph is not marked, select it and choose Adaptyle. The personalization guide shows the editor controls.
Give Adaptyle its instruction and data
Use this instruction on the marked paragraph:
Suggest a first project using this customer's notes. Give one concrete next step. Avoid work their teammates already own. If the notes do not contain a goal, ask them to name a project for work they already plan to do. Do not invent a role, deadline or previous activity.
In Data, select Maya and check that her name and notes appear in the sample. Include any additional fields the instruction needs. If you use evaluated attributes or related records, select those expansions explicitly and inspect their returned values.
Keep the greeting's name as a supplied value, and keep the button, destination, offer terms and layout outside the Adaptyle passage. The generated paragraph should read as part of the email. An instruction or Adaptyle label is editor information, not recipient content.
Compare the finished messages
Under Personalize → Runs with, choose Model and Thinking. Open Preview, select Personalized, then choose Generate preview and inspect the result. Select Leila, generate again, and repeat for Hugo.
| Preview | Check the advice against the data |
|---|---|
| Maya | It addresses launch sign-off and does not ask her to recreate Daniel's asset project. |
| Leila | It uses the completed interviews to suggest synthesis or prioritization, not recruiting participants again. |
| Hugo | It addresses the handoff and outstanding decision without inventing a team or project history. |
Also preview a test contact with empty notes. The email should follow your fallback instruction without inventing personal context. If it does not, refine the instruction and compare the samples again. Each generation uses AI credits.
Check the whole email
Read the generated paragraph in the complete message. Check the name, subject, layout, button and destination as well as the advice. Resolve issues in Checks, and review Estimate before generating for a larger audience.
For an inbox test, use Send test with an address you control after the sender is verified. This checks the rendered email in an inbox; it does not verify a production audience's marketing consent.
You now have one draft and several inspected recipient messages. To use this email with real customers, replace the example destination, select a permissioned audience with real email addresses and follow Send your first email. To send a reminder only while a signup still needs it, continue with the onboarding journey.
